Recently, some exciting musical casting news has been shared. The musical “Equal” which showed from Dec. 31, 2021, to Feb. 20, 2022, has announced that it will be showing a re-performance with a new cast in June of 2022. “Equal” is set in 17th century Europe and explores the friendship between a patient and a doctor. WENEE were among the first fandoms to show excitement about their idol, WonHo, being cast in the musical! Although WonHo has a few guest and support acting roles under his belt, this will be his first lead role. Not to mention that it marks his musical acting debut. He will be playing the role of Theo (previously played by BaekHo (former NU’EST member) and 2PM’s Jun.K) who is a doctor in a rural town with a bright and honest personality. The personality of the character already suits him very well. In his fancafe, WonHo mentioned that he is practicing for the musical alongside good people. Other idols cast in the new showing of “Equal” include Golden Child’s Hong JooChan (who was in the original cast), VICTON’s SeungSik and SeJun, and VROMANCE’s HyeonSuk. They will be acting among other musical actors including Kim KyungRok. The role of Theo will be alternated for different performances between WonHo, Kim KyungRok, VROMANCE’s HyeonSuk, and VICTON’s SeungSik. Golden Child’s Hong JooChan and VICTON’s SeJun will play the role of Nicola (the patient). WonHo also mentioned in his fancafe that he is working on a number of other projects. He truly is booked and busy. We love to see it! What do you think of the musical’s casting?
