He is a prolific actor who has graced the screen in both K-Dramas and Korean films. His filmography is filled with iconic works that have won him a world of love from K-Culture fans all over. The K-Dramas that he has starred in are also favorites on the watchlist of most K-Drama fans. He has been in the popular K-Dramas “Who Are You: School 2015”, “Weightlifting Fairy Kim BokJoo”, “Cheese in the Trap”, “Start-Up”, “Twenty-Five Twenty-One”, and more.
Nam JooHyuk has had fans falling for him over the course of his career with iconic characters who show his endearing charm. For those who are new to Nam JooHyuk, here is some basic information about him. He was born on February 22nd in 1994. His hometown is the second-largest city in Korea called Busan. K-Drama fans who are new to his works may not know that Nam JooHyuk was actually a model before becoming an actor. He joined a modeling competition that was sponsored by KPlus and ended up winning and being signed to the agency. He also attended the Seoul Hoseo Art Practical School and received a scholarship to become a model and years later gained praise for donating money to the same scholarship. Nam JooHyuk wanted to create an opportunity for his juniors so that they could also achieve their dreams. I wanted to be a model but I wasn’t attending an academy at the time. Luckily I got a scholarship and was able to become one. That’s the period when you dream the most. I hope that dream doesn’t get broken for any other reason. Just as you need to pay a registration fee to go to university; if you’re not given the opportunity you could end up giving up your dream. You might not do it because you get caught up doing something else, but shouldn’t you at least give it a try? I donated the money hoping that anyone who wants to do something at least gets the chance to try. I still want to help a lot in the future so I need to work hard, too. Nam JooHyuk YG Entertainment later joined hands with KPlus and Nam JooHyuk officially became a model signed under the new YGKPlus. Naturally, it makes sense that he would be a model with his tall physique, model-like proportions, and fit body. His shoulders are so broad that they often get their own appreciation from fans when his dramas are airing. Even the director of “Twenty-Five Twenty-One” once jokingly asked Nam JooHyuk to make his shoulders look smaller because they weren’t visible from the camera angle. Many of his female co-stars are also the center of envy when they get to touch or lean their heads on his broad shoulders.

His chiseled abs and muscles are the result of lots of hard work in the gym, swimming, and playing sports like basketball. He is said to do a well-balanced workout routine that includes strength training, cardio, and running. The star has shared that he actually wanted to be a basketball player before becoming a model. Due to an injury, he was unable to attain that dream. He has even played a game against the famous American professional basketball player Stephen Curry. It is no secret as he has photos of dogs all over his Instagram @skawngur. He always posts adorable shots of his pet poodles named GaEul and GobSoon. He even has GobSoon set as his wallpaper and GaEul set as his lockscreen (as of March 2022). One of the cute TMI facts about Nam JooHyuk is the fact that he can’t eat foods that are too hot. His talents don’t stop there and he has another hidden talent: singing. He sang a cover of ‘Yeosu Night Sea’ on the program “Radio Star” surprising many with his unique vocal color and stable vocals that show the appeal and charm of his deep voice. Nam JooHyuk is also known for having a lovable personality. He is the king of dad jokes and bringing a smile to the face of those around him. In an interview, he noted that instead of purposefully making dad jokes they just naturally come out and he tends not to miss the opportunity to say them. Nam JooHyuk especially enjoys the reactions of people around him when he makes these jokes. He not only charms his fans but other celebrities with his boyish face but mature attitude, that adds to his endearing qualities. He once said that he is a person who stresses a lot about how they can be better and present a better side of themselves. He thinks about these concerns until he feels like his head will explode. However, we think that he is already doing an amazing job and we’re sure that his fans think the same. Known for his relatable side as well, many are aware that he is actually a homebody. He enjoys just being at home and doing nothing or watching TV and playing games. He once revealed that his gaming ID was ‘NamJooHyuk1’ at some point in time. Whilst playing a team game with 2-3 other players, one of them asked him if he doesn’t have anything on his schedule the next day. He was flustered that they had figured out that he was a celebrity and had to leave the team. Lastly, as we mentioned before, Nam JooHyuk is known for his maturity despite being one of the representatives of youth in the public eye. He often says that when people come to him with their concerns, he is the type to listen first and then give practical advice. When asked what advice he would give to other people in their twenties, he shared some of his wisdom. He said that life doesn’t always go the way that you plan and that hard work pays off. He also added that everything is not easy and that there are times that things work out easily but he thinks it’s a trap, so you should be more careful and work harder living your life to the fullest at those times.
