Let’s learn more about this new group!
1. The Survival
The survival confronted 13 contestants aged ranged from 2002 and 2005, under IST Entertainment. During the show, another contestant named DongHwa was selected to be part of the group, but he was finally replaced by Won Bin after the agency announced that he will not be a part of the group’s lineup. Regarding the survival, it aired from March 19, 2022, to May 7, 2022, and was produced by Kakao Entertainment and Sony Music Solutions. It’s a K-pop survival show with missions mix with balance games. Before its broadcast, the members of the group released a video for their song ‘Run’. To judge them, six balancers were selected, including INFINITE’s Kim SungKyu, GOT7’s JAY B, and Minzy. However, the final lineup consists of 5 members selected by the public and 2 selected by the balancers. You can watch the preview of the show below. The balance games were divided into the “PR Balance”, “Concept Balance”, “Survival Balance” and “Final Balance”. The members also received a classification according to their scores, as “winning team”, “leader”, “ace”, death" and “leader & ace”. The “death” participant from the losing team would be eliminated and the “ace” would lead the next game. At the end of the show, the first five members were chosen from the final stage points and the public. They received: SeungHwan 1.740 points, JunSeok 1.710 points, RakWon 1.520 points, JunMin 1.380 points, and HyunJun 1.270 points. Then, the group as we know it today debuted.
2. Debut Album
ATBO made its debut in July, with the EP “The Beginning: 開花”, on July 7, 2022. The mini album includes six tracks; ‘7IBE’, ‘Monochrome (Color)’ (title), ‘Graffiti’, ‘High Five’, ‘WoW’, and ‘RUN’. This first mini-album is described as “color me up, show me the world, no paradigm, all the frames are broken”. The group is said to be ready to paint the K-Pop scenes in their own colors, with the concept of light, darkness, and color as keywords. Indeed, ATBO’s growth narrative, which is filled with darkness to light, and black to white to various colors beyond touching with songs and performances, will color the industry. A lot of fans are waiting for ATBO’s new album, and no doubt this young group will have a successful career!
3. First comeback
The group recently announced its first comeback, on October 26. This second mini-album is called “The Beginning: 始作”, and the concept is school! We should not forget that the members are all very young, so this concept should definitely suit them. Besides, they received their first prize during the Asia Model Awards: the Rookie of the Year (Singer Category) price, during the ceremony that took place between the 14 and 16 of October.
4. Did you know?
All of the members have an endearing personality, and more and more people learn about them every day. Regarding their MBTI, something really popular in Korea nowadays, it is said to be: ENTJ (JunSeok), ESFJ (JunMin), INFP (HyunJun & RakWon), ENFP (SeungHwan), ISFP (YeonKyu), and ISFJ (Won Bin). Moreover, the group is currently living together in a dormitory, and the rooms are divided as follows: 1) YeonKyu, Won Bin, SeungHwan, 2) JungSeok, HyunJun, 3) JunMin, RakWon.
